Pay groups
Pay groups define segments of the employee population for whom payroll processes can be run at a given time. The number of pay groups an organization requires is dependent on a number of factors:
- Frequency of pay
- Payroll end dates
- Payroll system being used
- How employees are classified
Examples of pay groups used in the application include HOURLY - WEEKLY, HOURLY - BI-WEEKLY, SALARY - WEEKLY, and SALARY - BI-WEEKLY. Every employee in the application should be assigned to a pay group.
