Creating new shift pattern
- From the homepage, select Maintenance > Schedule Settings > Shift Pattern Definition and Assignment.

Specify this information:
- Shift Pattern Name
- Specify the name of the shift pattern.
- Number of Days
- Specify the number of days of the shift pattern and click Set Days. 7 is specified by default.
- Shift Pattern Description
- Provide a description of the shift pattern.
- Effective Date
- Click the calendar icon and select a date.
- Shift Times:
- Specify the values in the Start Time, End Time, Break Start Time, and Break End Time fields for Day 1 to 7. The number of days depends on the number specified on the Number of Days field.
- Optionally, you can click Show/Hide Default Values and specify the values in the Shift Group, Shift Color, Break Hour Type, and Break Time Code fields. You can select the Year at a Glance check box to include the shift in the Year at a Glance report.
- Click Create to resolve the shift pattern specified.

Click Create & Assign to create the shift pattern
specified.
Note: If the shift pattern that you created already exists, no new shift pattern is created upon clicking Create or Create & Assign to avoid duplication.
A shift pattern is resolved in WFM by looking for a shift pattern that is the same or similar but has a different start date. In both cases, no new shift pattern is created. If an existing shift pattern has a different start date, then the employee is assigned to the shift pattern with a Shift Pattern Offset value to align with the pattern's starting point.
