Authoring Framework
An ad-hoc query layer has been added. This layer takes advantage of advanced data modeling techniques to provide true multi-dimensional query capability, and to allow users to create and execute ad-hoc queries on demand.
A new metadata model provides significantly better application data coverage. The metadata model includes forecasts and historical data, schedule optimization data structures and leave management. The metadata model also includes flags and user defined fields (UDF’s) on relevant query subjects.
Industry Launch Pads
Additional launch pads have been introduced to provide dashboard views to key operational metrics and quick links to key user activities.
Workbrain 5.0 offers the following re-usable Launch Pad components:

Bursting Cognos Reports
Cognos-based components present an opportunity to take advantage of advanced Cognos ReportNet bursting technology. This technology allows a single database query to be divided into many reports for individual users.
This efficient approach to running the same query for thousands of users concurrently allows Cognos launch pad components to be rendered in batch mode overnight to be rendered with the launch pad of thousands of users’ workstations the next day.
