Creating Schedule Compliance Groups
- Select Maintenance > Schedule Compliance > Schedule Compliance Groups.
- Click Create New Entry.

Specify this information, if applicable:
- Group Name
- Enter a name for the schedule compliance group.
- Group Description
- Enter a short description for the schedule compliance group.
- Is Enabled
- Do not select Is Enabled until all of the rules and filters
are completely configured. As soon as you select Is Enabled, assuming the
Effective Start Date and the Effective End Date range is current, any schedule
changes will validate against the configured rule and filter instances in this
schedule compliance group.

- Effective Start Date
- Select the date you want the schedule compliance group to start being effective. Defaults to the current date.
- Effective End Date
- Select the date you want the schedule compliance group to stop being effective. Defaults to January 1, 3000.

Click
Save.
The Summary tab lists the rules and filters that have been configured for the schedule compliance group.
After you click Save, the Delete check box becomes available for the schedule compliance group. For more information, see Modifying Schedule Compliance Groups.
- Click the Rules tab.
- Select the rule to add from the Add Rule lookup and click Add Rule.

Complete the following general settings, if applicable. For
details on each rule, see
Core Rule Catalog.
Specify this information:
- Name
- Enter a name for the instance of the rule you are defining for this schedule compliance group.
- Description
- Enter a short description for the rule instance.
- Rule Type
- Select:

Error to ensure that the shift will not be published with this violation present.
The schedule manager cannot approve an error violation.

Warning to allow the schedule manager the opportunity to approve the violation.
The shift can be published with an approved warning violation, but not with an unapproved warning violation.

- Violation Message

The default message for the rule appears in this field, complete with codes for system generated values such as the code {0} which generally represents the full employee name.
The default violation message, including all codes, are described for each rule in the Core Rule Catalog.
- Allow Employee Self-Approval
- Allow employees to violate the rule without manager approval when claiming shifts in Shift Billboard, trading shifts and elsewhere.
- Parameter(s)
- Each rule has different parameters that require configuration. The required parameters for each rule are described in the Core Rule Catalog.

Click
Save. The rule appears in
the list.
Continue to create more rules, if necessary.

Click the
Filters tab.
Note: If you do not define a filter for the schedule compliance group, all schedule data passes to the configured rule instances.
- Select a filter in the Add Filter lookup and click Add Filter.

Complete the following general settings, if applicable. For
details on each filter, see the
Core Filter Catalog.
- Exclude
- By default, all filters are “include” filters. Include filters pass all data that meets the criteria to the associated rules for validation. When you define the filter, you can select the Exclude check box to make the filter an ‘exclude’ filter. Exclude filters do not pass the data that meets the criteria to the associated rules for validation; instead Exclude filters pass the data that does not meet the criteria to the rules.
- Name
- Name the instance of the filter you are defining for the schedule compliance group.
- Description
- Add a description for the filter instance.
- Parameter(s)
- (Minimum Age and Maximum Age in image)
- Each filter has different parameters that require configuration. The required parameters for each filter are described in the Core Filter Catalog.

Click
Save.
Note: If multiple filters are used, the parameters for each group must be satisfied for the data to pass to the rules.
The filter is displayed in the list.
- Continue to create filters, as needed.
- Select the Summary tab to view the list of rules and filters for the schedule compliance group.
