Modifying Schedule Compliance Groups
Before making modifications to the configuration of a schedule compliance group, the general system behavior must be considered:
- When the user modifies the schedule and the system re-validates the updated schedule, any violations that are no longer valid will be removed from the system.
- In general, the violations are removed from the system permanently.
- For auditing purposes, all approved violations cannot be permanently removed from the system; therefore approved violations are removed from the system by marking them as “inactive”. Inactive approved violations are transparent to the schedule products, because they can only be retrieved through specific audit queries.
- Since approved violations cannot be permanently removed from the system, configuration must be preserved so that an auditing process can yield accurate results. For example, the audit process will be able to determine the rule parameters and which filters have been applied.
A schedule compliance group must be deactivated before any modifications can be made. Modification of schedule compliance groups includes:
- If the schedule compliance group is currently inactive, you can immediately make changes to the group, the rules, and the filters.
- If the schedule compliance
group has been activated, but no violations of any type have occurred, you need
to:
- Deactivate the schedule compliance group (clear the Is Enabled check box).
- The schedule compliance group is now inactive.
- Make the required changes to the group, the rules, and the filters.
- If the schedule compliance
group has been activated and violations have occurred but none of the
violations have been approved, you need to:
- Deactivate the schedule
compliance group (clear the Is Enabled check box).
The system displays a warning message indicating that the non-approved violations will be permanently removed.
