Default shifts

If you regularly work the same shifts, you can have one or more default shifts defined in your employee record.

See Creating default shifts.

Any default shifts that have been configured for you are shown in a drop-down list at the top of the Self Scheduling screen. When you select a default shift from the list, it is used to filter the available shifts that are shown in the calendar.

Note: A default shift filter only shows available shifts for the job specified in the default shift definition, not any associated jobs. For example, suppose a default shift is configured for team CARDIO, job RN, and shift DAY. If the RN job has an associated NURSING job, the default shift filter will only show RN-DAY shifts, not any NURSING-DAY shifts.

If you have selected a default shift, then only shifts that match the default shift values are shown in the Available Shifts popup when you select a date in the calendar.

Depending on your system configuration, you can also select Available Shifts from the drop-down list to select from all available shifts. If default shifts are configured, the Available Shifts option might be hidden so you can only select a default shift.

Alternatively, if you have selected a default shift, you can use the toggle to the left of the drop-down list to turn on quick select mode. If quick select mode is on, then selecting a date in the calendar automatically selects the default shift, without opening the Available Shifts popup.

Default shifts are marked with a star, both in the calendar and in the Available Shifts popup.
