Key Components
These components are used with special days:
- Name
- The name of the special day.
- Description
- A brief description of the special day.
- Location
- The location affected by the special day.
- Distribution
- A distribution for the special day.
- Mode
-
The mode used to determine how the forecast is calculated. The options are:
- All Days - when there is historical data available and you do not require the data to be used for specific days of the week.
- Special Days - when there is historical data available and you want to ensure they are applied using the same days of the week.
- Percentage Adjusted - when there is no historical data available, you can estimate sales increase percentage from a regular forecast.
- Special Day Skip
-
Indicates whether or not special day data should be flagged for use when future forecasts are generated.
For example, if the special day is for a one-day sale of overstocked inventory, you may want the day to be skipped when forecasting, if the same promotion is not expected to be held again. However, if the special day is for a Valentine’s Day sale that is held every year, you may want to flag the data for future forecasting.
- From
- The start date for the special day.
- To
- The end date for the special day.
