System Currency configuration
Specifies the code for the default currency. This configuration allows you to set the ISO 4217 code for the default currency to be used by the system.
Note: This setting should not be used to mix teams of employees from different countries or to
do rollup reporting since there is no currency conversion involved and the numbers will not
make sense in mixed or rolled up groups. Currency is based on the user and not the employee.
Therefore, if an hourly rate is in USD but a Japanese user logs in with a Japanese locale, the
number will be identical but the user will see the Yen currency symbol. This will happen
because the hourly rate is actually in USD but the currency is controlled by the
locale.
- Valid values:
- Any three-character ISO 4217 currency code or ‘XXX’ which will hide the currency symbol from displaying in the application.
- Default value in the system if you do not specify a value:
- USD - defaults to USD when blank.
