Generic Table Import Interface
Previously, the Generic Table Import Interface was used to import (update or insert) data into any given application table based on an XML mapping.
In previous versions, there were no restrictions within WFM application as to what tables were allowed to be loaded using generic imports. This lead to data inconsistency issues on many critical tables including employees, employee jobs, employee teams, and users.
Starting with 2023.12, Workforce Management has introduced a framework to restrict generic imports into certain critical tables. For new installations, generic imports into blocked tables are not allowed. For existing installations, generic imports into blocked tables are allowed, but the system displays a warning not use the generic import going forward.
New Core Imports are available for you to use to import (update or insert) data into a variety of application tables based on XML mappings. See Core Import Interface.
As a best practice, use these core imports whenever possible. You can use the default or edit the mapping definitions to satisfy your specific business requirements.
