Biometric sensitivity

The biometric threshold and enroll threshold properties control the sensitivity of the reader.

On clock start up, the device is initialized to the value specified for the threshold property. Normal operations occur with this setting.

When enrolling new users, the device is set to the value specified for the enroll threshold property. This property can optionally be set to a higher value to improve the quality of the scan during enrollment. After enrollment, the device is set back to the value specified in the threshold setting.

  • READ_BACK

This is the default setting. In this setting, the fingerprint reader operates with no additional sensitivity.

  • LOW
  • MEDIUM
  • HIGH
  • VERY_HIGH
Note: The VERY_HIGH setting is only supported for clocks with the Lumidigm fingerprint reader.

Depending on your system configuration, you will use either a reader configuration in WFM or the settings.conf file on the server to configure the biometric sensitivity.

See Configuring the clock.

Reader configurations

If you are using reader configurations, use these configuration properties.

See Using reader configurations.

feature.fingerprint.threshold
Specify a value for the fingerprint threshold.
feature.fingerprint.threashold.enroll
Optionally, specify a different fingerprint threshold for enrolling new employees.

Settings.conf

If you are not using reader configurations, use these properties in settings.conf.

bioMetric.threshold
Specify a value for the fingerprint threshold.
bioMetric.threshold.enroll
Optionally, specify a different fingerprint threshold for enrolling new employees.
