Copying an Existing Layout

Creating a new layout from scratch can be cumbersome and time consuming. However, you can use the Layout Copy page to create new layouts from existing ones. This page enables you to reuse previously defined fields from existing templates. Reusing existing templates can save time and reduce errors.

To copy an existing layout:

  1. Select Maintenance > Optional Modules > Labor Budgeting > Labor Budgeting Settings > Layout Copy.
    The Layout Copy page is displayed.
  2. Specify this information:
    Layout
    Use the lookup to select the layout to copy.
    New Layout Name
    Specify a unique name for the new layout.
    New Layout Description
    Specify a brief description of the new layout.
    Copy References
    Select this check box to copy the references from the Forecast column in the copied layout to the new layout. This parameter is especially useful for BUP or forecast layouts because it enables displaying the differences between the original and generated values.
  3. Click Go to save the copied layout.
    This layout is displayed as a listing in the Layouts page.
