Regenerating workload

You can recalculate workload values after editing driver forecasts on the Worksheet. Workload is displayed in the Staffing Requirement Hours column. Changing the values in the column also changes the values in the Variable Hours, Volume Driven Hours, and Schedule Hours columns. Note that regenerating workload also recalculates non-workload values on the Worksheet.

Regenerating the workload does not update the projection based on any newly imported drivers. To update the projection based on a new set of imported drivers, you must update the projection. For instructions, see Generating a Plan Manually.

  1. If multiple locations and a single time period are displayed on the Worksheet, select one or more rows.
  2. Click Workload.
    By default, the Workload button is displayed on the Worksheet only if the budget manager is linked to the CORPORATE location type. You can use the REGENERATE_WORKLOAD_LOC_TYPES registry parameter to specify the location types for which linked budget managers can view this button. See the Infor WFM Registry Parameter Reference Guide.

    The Filter Criteria pop-up window is displayed.

  3. Optionally, specify one or more of the following criteria to specify the locations to check when evaluating search criteria, and click OK. For example, you can search all locations that have a specified property value. By default, the Budget Creation module searches all locations.
    Location Type
    Select the highest-level location type to search, using the lookup. The Budget Creation module also searches all locations under the selected location type. For information on location types, see Modifying Labor Budgeting Location Types.

    By default, the Budget Creation module checks search criteria for the DEPARTMENT location, which is the leaf location. These values are then aggregated for locations above them in the hierarchy.

    Location Name
    Specify the name of a location. You can use wildcards to search for a partial match. For example, use %TV% to search for all locations with TV in the name.
    Location Property
    Select any user-defined location property, such as department type or square footage, using the lookup.
    Condition

    Determines the acceptable range of the Property Value for the Location Property:

    • =: Equal to.
    • <>: Not equal to.
    • >: Greater than. (Numerical values only.)
    • >=: Greater than or equal to. (Numerical values only.)
    • <: Less than. (Numerical values only.)
    • <=: Less than or equal to. (Numerical values only.)

    LIKE: The text value. You can use wildcards to search for a partial match. For example, you can use %TV% to search for all property values that include TV. This behaves like other text fields in Search panels in the application. (Text values only.)

    Property Value

    The user-defined value of the Location Property.

    Example 1: If the user-defined location property is department type, then the user-defined value may be “TV”.

    Example 2: If the user-defined location property is square footage, the condition is <=, and the property value is 50,000, then the report displays all locations with a square footage less than or equal to 50,000.

    The application then recalculates the workload-related projected data displayed on the Worksheet for the specified locations.

    The application determines whether to perform this action synchronously or asynchronously, depending on whether the selected location type is specified by the SYNC_ACTION_LOC_TYPES registry parameter. See the Infor WFM Registry Parameter Reference Guide.

  4. If workload generation is processed as an asynchronous job, the Workmail inbox is displayed. After the workload generation is completed, you receive a message and a link to the updated Worksheet.
  5. If workload generation is processed as a synchronous job, data is not displayed on the Worksheet until the regeneration is complete.
    Regenerating the workload recalculates the values in the Staffing Requirements Hours column. This is the total workload required, based on workload generation data from LFSO, and it is not editable.
When the values in the Staffing Requirements Hours column changes, values in the related Variable Hours, Volume Driven Hours, and Schedule Hours columns are recalculated accordingly, and the value in the Variable Coefficient column is reset to one (1).
