Shift offsets
Shift offsets should be considered when scheduling employees that are required to perform tasks before or after regular service activities. For example, cashiers may spend 10 minutes at the beginning of each shift to count their cash drawer before they can start servicing customers.
Shift offsets can be configured when adding volume-driven workload requirements to a
department. When schedules are generated, Auto-Assignment extends the start of created
shifts by the number of minutes specified in the Shift
Start Offset field. The Shift End
Offset field determines the number of minutes to extend a shift at the
end of the shift. It is important to note that shift offsets can create shifts that
extend past the start or end of the department's hours of operation.
Note: Shifts created from employee shift patterns
are not affected by shift offsets.
