Simple Scheduling

Use Simple Scheduling to create simple schedules using Auto Assignment break rules.

Use the Simple Scheduling check box on the Auto Assignment page to create simple schedules while specifying details such as schedule name, locations, and start date.

This option bypasses the use of Auto Assignment's optimization engine. Use this option to create schedules by applying meal and break rules to shifts based on shift patterns or entries in the simple schedule.

Additionally, you can add Auto Assignment groups to a simple schedule as an option to apply break rules to shifts based on the selected Auto Assignment group. You can also create schedule profiles with a Simple Scheduling option.

Simple Scheduling types

You can use Simple Scheduling to create these types of schedules:

  • Schedules using fixed shifts
  • Schedules using fixed shifts with Auto Assignment groups
  • Schedules using fixed shifts with breaks
  • Schedules using no fixed shifts
Note: This creates an empty schedule with no shifts assigned.

Use the steps in Generating schedules manually with Simple Scheduling to create a Simple Schedule manually.

Schedule profiles and schedule profile imports

You can create schedule profiles and schedule profile imports with Simple Scheduling. See Creating an Auto-Assignment schedule profile for Simple Scheduling.

Follow the instructions in Importing a schedule profile to create and import a schedule profile.
Note: The Simple Scheduling field for schedule profile imports is optional.

See CSV file contents for details.

Simple Scheduling processing

Simple Scheduling requires a background processing task that must be scheduled in the Job Scheduler. For more information, see Auto Assignment Scheduler Task.

You can also use batch processing for Simple Scheduling. To set up batch processing, see Generating LFSO schedules using a batch job.
