Configuring the Day Light Saving rule
The rule must be reconfigured for employees in locations that do not use daylight saving time.
- In the Quick Rule Editor, specify a calculation group and click Go.
- Add the Day Light Saving rule if it has not already been added.
- In the rule list in the left panel, click Day Light Saving.

Specify these parameters:
- Employee Timezone
- Specify the timezone that the rule applies to.
- Apply Premiums Based On
- Select one of these options:
- Schedule: Premiums are applied based on employees' schedules.
- Work Details: Premiums are applied based on employees' work details such as manual clock overrides, and other overrides.
- Premium Time Code
- Specify the time zone to use for the premiums that are
generated.
You can select Assign time code from existing work details to copy the time codes from the employee work details that span the daylight saving time transition, or you can select Assign time code to specify a different code.
- Pay Representation
- Select one of these options:
- Rates: The premiums are paid out based on the differences of minutes that are allocated to individual rates and the REG hour type. This is the default.
- Hour Types: The premiums are paid out based on the differences of minutes that are allocated to individual hour types, using those hour types and a rate of 0 (zero).
- Both: Premiums are paid based on both the rates and the hour types of the existing work details that span the daylight saving time transition.
- Premium Labor Settings
- Specify the labor settings to use for the premiums that are
generated.
If you selected Schedule in the Apply Premiums Based On list, then Assign manual labor settings is the only available option.. You can specify the values to use in the Job, Department, Project, Docket, and Quantity fields.
If you selected Work Details in the Apply Premiums Based On list, you can also select Assign labor from existing work details to copy the values from the existing work details that span the daylight saving time transition.
- Select the Assign team from existing work details check box to copy the team from the existing work detail.
- Use the Apply UDFs from existing work details field to specify one or more UDFs to copy to the premiums.
- Use the Apply Flags from existing work details field to specify one or more flags to copy to the premiums.
- Click Apply.

Optionally, add condition sets to the rule for timezones that do not observe
daylight saving time.
For each timezone, specify Is Employee Property Generic Condition as the condition as the condition for the condition set, then specify the timezone ID in the Expression String field. This value should match the TZ_ID value from the TIMEZONE table. For example, for the America/Phoenix timezone you would specify tzId=6.
- Save the calculation group.
