The date effective time periods are created, which lets you define when rules are enabled or disabled.
By default, all existing rules are enabled through all the time periods from 01/01/1900 to 01/01/3000 after you define a time period for date effective rules. By disabling rules in the different time periods, you ensure the date effective rule is only applied during the rule’s effective time span.
For example, if a new law affecting overtime policies comes into effect one year from today, the new rule that reflects this law could be created today. In this case, the new rule is disabled in the time periods up to the rule’s effective start date. Then the rule is enabled after the start date and on the same day the new law becomes effective.
