Creating new shifts
You need to create a new shift if the existing shifts do not have the appropriate start and end times.
To create a new shift:
- Select Maintenance > Schedule Settings > Shifts.
- Click Create New Entry.
-
Specify this information:
- Shift
- Specify a name to identify the shift. Use descriptive names when creating shift names. Descriptive shift names can provide meaningful at-a-glance information to timesheet users. For example, the name "0800-1700" will be more useful to users than "Day Shift", unless users know that "Day Shift" translates to 0800-1700 in your organization.
- Preconfigured Shift Label
-
If a shift label has been preconfigured for the unit, you can choose to use it or override it with a new name.
Information about how to create a new name for a shift is in another section. Creating new shift labels
