Configuring Shift Billboard workflows for batch processing

By default, Shift Billboard workflows are configured to execute immediately. When using immediate execution, the Workflow task is initiated when a user performs an action that creates a billboard request. The request progresses through the workflow until it is accepted, rejected, or routed for an approval decision, and users are notified immediately with the outcome of their request.

Shift Billboard workflows can be configured to be executed using batch processing. When batch processing is enabled and a user makes a billboard request, the request is executed during the next scheduled run of the Workflow task. Users are notified when making a request that their request has been submitted and to check their workmail to determine the outcome of the request.

Batch processing is configured by clearing the Submit immediately check box in the workflow properties. The workflow must be saved to confirm the configuration. Each workflow can be configured separately to enable different behavior for posting, claiming, and withdraw requests.
