Rule: Maximum X Consecutive Days with Y Hours

This rule limits to X days in a row that an employee can work for Y hours or more each day.

Use care when configuring this rule. The rule can load a large amount of data and may negatively impact performance.

Overview

The Maximum X Consecutive Days With Y Hours rule specifies the number of consecutive days (X) that an employee is permitted to work a specified number of hours (Y) or more. This rule combines the logic of the Maximum Hours Per Day rule and the Max Consecutive Days rule. For a day to count towards the consecutive day total (X), the number of hours worked must equal or exceed the number of hours specified (Y). If a violation occurs, it will be counted against the entire period in which the violation occurred.

Typically, where multiple Maximum Consecutive Days With Hours rules are implemented, the value of X is raised as the value of Y is lowered. That is, the number of consecutive days increases as the number of hours decreases. When more than this number of hours is worked for more than the consecutive days indicated, a violation will be triggered.

Violation Area

Violations count against the appropriate days.

Example

An example would be to limit the number of days to 3 that an employee can work 12 hours or more.
