Rule: Invalid Range of Hours Per Week

This rule provides the range of hours that an employee cannot be scheduled in a week.

You define the invalid range of hours using the minimum hours and maximum hours values.

You can use this rule independently, or with the Minimum Hours Per Week or Maximum Hours Per Week rules to create a graduated rule. For example:

Minimum Hours Per Week Graduated Rule Group

• Invalid Range of Hours Per Week Rule:
  • Minimum Hours - 10:00
  • Maximum Hours - 14:59
  • Violation Type - Warning
• Minimum Hours Per Week Rule:
  • Hours - 9:59
  • Violation Type - Error

In this case, a 10 hour to 14:59 hour work week generates a warning violation; whereas a work week shorter than 10 hours (00:01 to 09:59) generates an error violation.

Maximum Hours Per Week Rule Group

• Invalid Range of Hours Per Week Rule:
  • Minimum Hours - 40:01
  • Maximum Hours - 43:59
  • Violation Type - Warning
• Maximum Hours Per Week Rule:
  • Hours - 44:00
  • Violation Type - Error

In this case, a 40:01 hour to 43:59 hour work week generates a warning violation; whereas a work week longer than 44 hours generates an error violation.
