Creating custom reports

Cognos Analytics is a web-based tool that report authors can use to create reports that analyze corporate data based on their business needs.

Workforce Management uses IBM Cognos Analytics to provide enterprise reporting capabilities. It can be used to view, run, or schedule built-in reports or custom reports.

In Workforce Management, select Maintenance > System Administration > Toolkit > Workforce Performance - Report Authoring.

You should also have a working knowledge of Cognos Analytics and Query Studio. For details on how to use the reporting tool, refer to the Cognos Analytics documentation on the IBM website.

Note: The UI for the Cognos Analytics Report Authoring Tool is subject to change, which may affect the documentation in this section. You may need to refer to the IBM documentation to gain a full understanding of how to use the Report Authoring Tool. This section is merely a quick start for report authors.

After you have created a report, save the report and register it in the Workforce Management application to make it available to other users.

Cognos reports are based on the Infor Workforce Management metadata model. The metadata model presents data from the application database in a business format that is easier for report authors and business users to understand. The metadata model includes multiple packages that are deployed to the Cognos server to enable access by report authors.
