Extending or customizing content

This section outlines some specific details about how to extend and customize your Birst content.

The following are some basic guidelines regarding the extension and customization of the data model and Custom Subject Area in Birst:

• Infor does not support the customization or extension of the out-of-the-box provided data model and custom subject areas in Birst. If you alter the out-of-the-box data model or custom subject areas, these changes will be overwritten upon upgrade or the application of a fix. For this reason, Infor does not support these types of changes.
• Infor supports the creation of your own saved expressions and variables if they are created and saved in a new custom subject area. Saved expressions and variables that are created in the out-of-the-box custom subject areas will be overwritten during all standard upgrades to the content.
