Processing MR/OTS with data elements
The first time an MR or OTS is processed, data elements that have been edited on
shifts are published as Shift Data Elements, also known as shift summary UDFs. These
Shift Data Elements can be viewed or edited on the published shifts in ASV or Central
Staffing. Values edited in ASV or Central Staffing are not reflected on the shift when
editing the schedule in the MR or OTS edit screens.
Note: If the configuration of a shift
includes default values for any of the data element fields, the values specified in
an MR or OTS overwrite the default values for the edited fields when the shift is
published. If a data element field is left blank, the default value from the shift
configuration is included in the published shifts.
You can edit data elements in an MR or OTS that has been processed. When the rotation is re-processed, the data elements are updated in ASV and Central Staffing, unless the shift has previously been edited. The data element fields are not updated if a shift has any edits to shift details, such as changes in work activity times. Shift detail edits include edits made to the data element values. However, if the shift has been updated with a new shift label in the MR or OTS, the data elements are updated when the rotation is re-processed.
