Master Rotation and One-time Schedule edit screens
The Master Rotation (MR) and One-time Schedule (OTS) edit screens are where you create MR or OTS schedules for the team or the specified employees. These screens are where you plot shifts, edit labor metrics, and assign employees to rows in the schedule.
In an MR or OTS, the schedule is represented as a table. Each row in the table includes shifts, the job required to perform the shifts, and labor metrics that can be applied to the shifts. Each column contains one day in the schedule. An employee is assigned to a schedule row to schedule them to work the included shifts.
These are the sections of the MR and OTS edit screens:
Section | Description |
---|---|
Details panel | The Details panel
displays information about the currently selected MR or OTS. This panel
is displayed across the top of the MR / OTS edit screen. When collapsed,
this panel displays this information about the currently selected MR or
OTS:
When the Details panel is expanded, the Schedule Information tab displays additional information, including the schedule description and the Staffing Requirements Template (SRT) used to display coverage. For MRs or OTS templates, the length and start date of the rotation are displayed. For OTS schedules based on an OTS template, the OTS template name and length are displayed. The KPI tab displays custom KPI values. The KPI tab is only displayed when the Schedule KPI callout is enabled. |
Schedule/Template indicator | The Schedule/Template indicator shows whether you are currently editing an actual schedule or the schedule template. The indicator is displayed above the Schedule table. The indicator says Schedule when you are editing an OTS schedule or an MR that has been activated. The indicator says Template when you are editing an OTS template, an MR in DRAFT status, or when editing MR rotation rows. You can click the button to open the template that the current schedule is based on. You can click to return to the actual schedule. |
Schedule table | The Schedule table is
where you create the schedule by assigning employees and plotting shifts. The
table is displayed in the center of the MR and OTS edit screens. Each row in
the table represents a schedule made up of shifts. A row can be assigned to an
employee indefinitely or for specified duration. Rows have a lock icon when the
schedule is being processed. Rows have a gray arrow in the corner when they
contain unprocessed changes. The table has these columns:

Calendar columns | The Schedule table display the shift pattern as a grid. Each
column represents one day in the schedule. Shifts are represented by
their shift label, such as DAY, 7D8, or 15E8. If you do not have a shift selected in the Shift Palette, you can select a shift or empty cell in the calendar by clicking on it. You can select multiple shifts or cells by holding when clicking on the shifts or cells. This can be used to perform operations on multiple shifts or cells at the same time. You can right-click on a day cell to access certain operation on the day or shift. A gray arrow is displayed on day cells when shift comments or exist for the associated day or shift. A gray arrow is also displayed if data elements have been updated on the associated shift. Yellow or red arrow or circle icons are displayed in day cells when schedule compliance issues or shift overlaps are associated with the day or shift. |
columns in the
Coverage panel | The Coverage panel displays the level of staffing coverage by comparing the plotted shifts with the staff requirements derived from the SRT. The panel is located across the bottom of the MR and OTS edit screens. |
