Including on-call time in coverage calculations
The administrator can include or exclude non-overlapping on-call time from coverage calculations by configuring the Covers Workload activity flag.
For example, a shift (OC-D) exists in the CARDIO team. The OC-D shift contains 7:00 to 19:00 on-call time and no work time. If the Covers Workload flag is selected for the on-call activity, then the on-call time contributes to coverage on the day of the shift.
If the on-call shift contains work time, then the concurrent on-call time is not considered in the coverage calculation.
For example, the same OC-D shift is assigned to an employee and also contains work time of 9:00 to 13:00 with WRK activity. If the Covers Workload flag is selected for the WRK activity, then the work time of 9:00 to 13:00 contributes to coverage. In addition, if the Covers Workload flag is selected for the on-call activity, then the non-overlapping on-call time from 7:00 to 9:00 and 13:00 to 17:00 also contributes to coverage.
Similar to regular shifts, on-call shifts can also be included or excluded from coverage calculations by day part association.
