Properties and requirements for merging a shift
The ability to merge shifts must be enabled. Enabling Split Shift and Merge Shift on the ASV screen
The bullet points list important information about merging shifts.
- A shift must have been split before it can be merged. The button is only available on schedules that contain a split shift.
- A shift cannot be merged if at least one of the portions has an action, such as, book-off, swap, unassign, relief, or float performed on it. The error message, "Can not merge. Actions have already been performed on the split shift," displays in this case.
- Shifts to be merged must be continuous. If a time gap exists between two portions of a shift, they cannot be merged.
- Merged shifts in which portion has identical properties for such things as job activity, and labor metrics, the on-call status displays in the schedule. Conversely. merged shift portions that do not have identical properties display separately in the schedule.
