Schedule Balance mode
Schedule Balance mode can be used to perform edits simultaneously for multiple employees.
Normally, shift edits in ASV lock the entire schedule, preventing you from performing
additional edits until the edit is applied. When the Schedule
Balance check box is selected, shift edits only lock the row for the current
employee until the edit is completed. You can perform edits to other employee rows during this
processing time.
Schedule Balance mode can be enabled in Simple Edit and Details Edit modes and provides a
limited set of schedule editing actions. You can perform these actions to edit the schedule
when Schedule Balance mode is enabled:
- Create new ad-hoc shifts
- Edit shift details
- Assign shifts
- Unassign shifts
- Delete shifts
Note: Shifts created in Master Rotations or One-time Schedules cannot be
deleted or unassigned.
Schedule compliance and other validations are performed on the shift during the processing
time. If any violations or validation errors are detected, then a violation icon is displayed
in the Employee column when the row is unlocked.
This icon is yellow for warnings, and is red for errors. You can click the icon to view the
latest issue.
Note: Edits are not performed that would cause errors. For
example, if you create a shift that overlaps an existing shift that is assigned to the
employee, that shift is not created and a red error icon is displayed.
