Schedule costing in MR
The cost of the currently displayed schedule in an MR is displayed in the Details panel of the MR edit screen. When editing a draft or activated MR, the displayed cost is calculated by the method specified using the MVS_PAY_RULE_BASED_SCHED_COST_CALC registry parameter. If the Time and Attendance algorithm is used, the cost of shifts is calculated using the base rates and pay rules of the employee that is assigned to the row. If the MVS algorithm is used, the cost of the shifts is estimated. Estimated cost is determined based on the configuration of the job required to perform the shifts on the row.
Shifts in rows that are not assigned do not contribute to cost until the row is assigned to an employee. This is true whether the Time and Attendance or MVS algorithm is used.
The cost of shifts may be also be affected by labor metrics that are assigned to the row, which override the default labor allocation of the assigned employee.
When editing MR rotation row versions, the MVS algorithm is always used to provide an estimate of the cost of one schedule rotation period. Shifts in MR rotation rows contribute to cost even if an employee is not assigned in the actual schedule.
See Schedule costing in MVS for more details on configuring schedule costing.
