Calculating coverage in MVS using Job
This topic provides general steps for creating and assigning an MR schedule when the
MR_COVERAGE_SVC callout has been enabled. When this callout is enabled and new master
rotations and day parts are created using it, shift coverage is calculated based on what is
populated for Job in the Shift property, not the Rotation Row property. (Search online help
for specific steps about performing each step.)
Note: The MR_COVERAGE_SVC
callout must be enabled for this calculation method to be used. MR_COVERAGE_SVC
These steps are general. For more details, refer to the help topics for each step.
- Create a new master rotation. The Assign Staff field includes the option Jobs for selection. Select the Jobs option for calculating coverage using Jobs.
- Create new Day Parts. These Day Parts should span twenty-four hours. For example, Start Time should be 12:00a and End Time should be 12:00a. For the purposes of this example, these Day Parts are called Shift1, Shift2 and so on.
- Create a shift label for the Day Parts. For example, create a shift label called "JOB."
- Create a shift configuration for the first new Day Part. For consistency, you could
configure a shift called "Shift1" having these properties:
- Start Time: 6:00a of 12:00a
- End Time: 6:00a
- Day Part: Shift1
- Job Property: Clerk
- Create a shift configuration for the next new Day Part. You could configure another
shift called "Shift2" having these properties:
- Start Time: 6:00a of 12:00a
- End Time: 6:00a
- Day Part: Shift2
- Job Property: RN
- Configure other required shifts.
- Assign the shifts to team members.
