Disable job validation when scheduling
When a schedule is created, job validation ensures that employees are scheduled for jobs that are appropriate for them as determined by configuration when they were added to the system. If an employee is assigned to an inappropriate job, the system triggers notifications. By default, these notifications happen automatically and most customers find them useful.
For a small set of customers, the Job is not meaningful when creating schedules. They base assignments on other criteria, for example, Skills. Notifications about invalid job assignments are not useful for them and can become cumbersome to deal with. For these customers, Infor release 2023.10 allows system administrators to disable job validation. This is done through the registry parameter SKIP_JOB_VALIDATION.
See SKIP_JOB_VALIDATION.
SKIP_JOB_VALIDATION is a global parameter. When set to true, it changes the processing of all associated WFM modules.
By default, SKIP_JOB_VALIDATION is set to false, which means job validation is performed and notifications are sent as required.

Scheduler view
- When a shift is posted to billboards, all employees in the billboard group should see all shifts based on the Skills shown in their profiles. The Job is not considered.
- Schedulers can bypass job validation and assign shifts without triggering validations in billboards.
- Schedulers can apply filters for such things as:
- Show Qualified by Job.
- Show Qualified by Skill.
- Show Available.
- When a scheduler assigns a shift with a job different than an employee's job, an error message is not triggered.
- When a scheduler assigns a shift with a job that is past assignment dates for an employee's job, an error message is not triggered.
As a system administrator, you can skip billboard validations in the billboard group setup. These columns are in Billboard Group - Details:
- Ignore Job Qualifications: If the check box is selected, job validation is skipped when employee claims any shift posted to the billboard group.
- Ignore Optional Skill Qualifications: If the check box is selected, non-required skill validation is skipped when employee claims any shift posted to the billboard group.
Both settings should apply to MVS shifts, LFSO shifts, and Time and Attendance shifts. For Time and Attendance, the settings are always assigned to the employee, so they are considered employee posted shifts.
