Adjust the staffing levels

Use the steps in the procedure to view and manually adjust the staffing levels for a day part.

  1. Open Central Staffing. Navigate to Scheduling > Multi-view Scheduler > Central Staffing > Central Staffing.
  2. Click the arrow to expand the panel to view the suggested staffing information for each shift.
    An icon next to the Day Part name indicates that a new census has been received.
  3. In the Staffing coverage table, use this information to evaluate the staffing levels:
    Blue arrow
    A blue arrow indicates the coverage may be overstaffed.
    Red arrow
    A red arrow indicates the coverage may be understaffed.
    Green check mark
    A green check mark indicates the coverage is staffed appropriately.

    This information is also displayed in the Schedule zone as well.

  4. Adjust the staffing levels as required. On the Central Staffing KPI panel, click Edit next to the day part to adjust.
    Note: Use the drop-down fields Unit and Day Part to select a different unit or day part. You can make adjustments for day parts that have not yet received a census.
  5. On the Staffing Adjustment screen, modify the staffing as required.
    Adjusted
    Provide the number of updated staff for the position. Use whole numbers only.
    Reason
    Select a reason for the adjustment in the drop-down field.
    Note: This field is required when making adjustments.
    Comment
    Optionally, click the comment icon to provide a comment for the adjustment.
    Note: To view previously entered comments, open the Staffing Adjustment screen and click the comment icon next to an adjustment. Any previously entered comments are listed at the bottom of the Staffing Adjustment Comment window. To delete a comment, click the trash icon.
  6. Click Submit to submit the adjustment.
  7. Make other adjustments as required. After submitting all adjustments, click Close.
