Renaming Entities

When copying locations, if your naming strategy results in duplicate names, an error message is displayed. The message states that the listed entities have been renamed due naming conflicts.

In these cases, Configuration Editor appends the current time in milliseconds to the name. For example, MC BREAK_1204061649209 is an activity that has been renamed.

To copy and paste locations and drivers:

  1. Select Scheduling > Schedule Optimization > Setup > Configuration Editor.
  2. Select or search or refine to find the location or driver that you want to copy.
  3. Select the list item you want to copy in the Results table.
  4. Click Copy.
  5. Navigate to the appropriate location.
  6. Select the entity to which you want to paste the copied data.
  7. Click Paste.
    A dialog box is displayed that allows you to modify the entity name to create a unique entity.
  8. Specify the prefix that you want to replace in the Replace Store Name Prefix field.
  9. Specify the new prefix that you want to use in the With field.
  10. Select the Include Distributions check box if you also want to copy distribution information.
  11. Click Save.
  12. If necessary, edit the values of the pasted record to create the exact entity that you require.
