Shift Rules
Shift rules enable you to define criteria for a schedule’s shifts, such as the minimum and maximum lengths of shifts. When the schedule is generated and staff is assigned, any shift rules defined for a location are addressed automatically.
These components are used with shift rules:
- Staff Group
- A staff group to which the shift rule applies.
- Shift Length Min
- A number representing the minimum number of hours a shift must be to be assigned to employees in this staff group.
- Shift Length Max
- A number representing the maximum number of hours a shift could be in order to still be assigned to employees in this staff group.
- Shift Length Increment
-
Select one of these options:
- 60 minutes to indicate that the shift length increments by one hour.
- 30 minutes to indicate that the shift length increments by half an hour.
- 15 minutes to indicate that the shift length increments by a quarter of an hour.
- Shift Window Start
- A value indicating that the shift should start no earlier than this time.
- Shift Window End
- A value indicating that the shift should end no later than this time.
- Shift Applies To
