Overview

Staff groups organize staff members, who are governed by the same rules, into logical teams for assignment and scheduling. For example, a group of minors under the age of 18 or full-time staff could each represent a staff group. Staff groups need to be defined for each location.

For each staff group, specify these schedule rules. The application uses these rules to generate a schedule:

  • Shift rules, to determine the shifts that employees in the group can work.
  • Break rules, to determine the breaks and other activities for the group.
  • Staff rules, to capture the constraints or preferences that guide the application when generating optimized schedules.

The Configuration Editor does not support sharing schedule rules across staff groups. Each staff group has a corresponding schedule rule.
