Types of Work (Drivers)
There are three types of work which drive the staffing requirements for a location:
- Volume-driven work, used to set variable, volume-driven workload requirements.
- Non-volume-driven work, used to set fixed, activity-based workload requirements (those not based on volume).
-
Property-driven work, used to set workload requirements based on a location property variable. For example, the square foot measurements of a store or the number of check-out lines in a store.
Store property driven workload requirements are activity-based, like non-volume workload requirements. However, the requirements are determined by the user-defined location property variable, rather than volume.
You can use the Configuration Editor to add, edit or delete any of these specific types of workload details.
Staffing requirement details are displayed (for selected staffing criteria) in the Requirements tab of the Entity Details section. Volume-driven requirements are discernible from non-volume-driven requirements because they have a value in the Driver column. Property-driven requirements have values in the Driver, Start Time, End Time and Recurrence columns.
