Key Components
These components are used with departments:
- Name
- The unique name for the department.
- Store
- The parent location to which the department belongs. This lookup only allows you to select a store.
- Description
- A brief description of the department.
- Team
- The team associated with the location, used for establishing user access.
- Budget Type
-
Select one of these budget types to specify the source of budget information (typically, dollars or hours) that is required for a department when schedule creation is constrained by a budget:
- - to indicate that no budget type is used.
- - to indicate that the budget (in hours) is derived from the forecast.
- - to indicate that the budget (in dollars) is derived from a percentage of the forecast revenue.
- - to indicate that the budget is derived using the number of full-time equivalents (FTEs) that may be applied.
- - to indicate that the budget is derived from a fixed cost per unit.
- - to indicate that budget information (based on weekly payroll numbers) is derived from the Labor Budgeting module, at the department level.
- - to indicate that budget information (based on dollars) is derived from an external source, at the department level.
- - to indicate that budget information (based on hours) is derived from an external source, at the department level.
-
Set to Store Labor Budgeting to configure LFSO to use the payroll dollars from the Labor Budgeting module as a scheduling constraint.
- - to indicate that budget information (based on dollars) is derived from an external source, at the store level.
- - to indicate that budget information (based on hours) is derived from an external source, at the store level.
*Budget type supported by the LFSO Budget Adjusted Workload (BAW) feature. See the Infor WFM Registry Parameter Reference Guide.
- Location Type
- The location type of the entity.
- Forecast Interval
- Specifies how time is divided during department forecasting. The options are Daily, 60, 30, 15, 10 or 5 minutes.
- Rounding/Rule
-
The rounding rule that is applied to the department.
You may need to apply a user-defined rounding rule for rounding during low-volume times, when the typical rounding method (0.5) might not produce the required results. (That is, the difference might be too great with few employees.) To define a rule, select Scheduling > Schedule Optimization > Staff Rounding Rules.
- Inherit Hours
-
Specifies whether or not the department inherits hours of operation from the department’s parent location.
- Open Offset
-
The time the department opens as an offset of the parent store’s hours of operation. This field is applicable only if inheriting hours from a store.
Offsets represent the amount of time by which the location’s hours are offset (earlier or later) from the location’s parent location’s hours. For example, if the parent location opens at 10:00 AM, but the downtown location opens at 11:00 AM, the offset value for the open offset would be “1.0” hours later than the parent location.
- Close Offset
-
The time the department closes as an offset of the parent store’s hours of operation. This field is applicable only if inheriting hours from a store.
Offsets represent the amount of time by which the location’s hours are offset (earlier or later) from the location’s parent location’s hours. For example, if the parent location closes at 11:00 PM, but the downtown location closes at 10:00 PM, the offset value for the close offset would be “-1.0” hours earlier than the parent location.
- Open Staff Offset
-
The time to apply to any shift that starts at the beginning of a location’s hours of operation range. The time is added to a job or shift offset.
- Close Staff Offset
-
The time to apply to any shift that ends at the end of a location’s hours of operation range. The time is added to a job or shift offset.
- External ID
-
An identifier for the department that is used to load data from an external system.
You may also have to specify hours of operation or properties for departments. For information about hours of operation and properties, see Hours of Operation and Properties.
