Editing fixed shift patterns
Fixed shift patterns can be edited for individual employees. You can edit the shifts assigned to the employee and determine how the schedule optimizer interacts with the employee's fixed shift schedule.
- Select Scheduling > Schedule Optimization > Setup > Employee Shift Pattern.
-
Specify an employee in the Employee
field to edit the shift pattern for an individual employee. Or, specify a team
in the Team field to edit the shift
pattern for members of that team.
If you selected a team, then optionally select the Include Sub Teams check box to include members of sub-teams of the specified team.
-
Select the start date for the fixed shift pattern from the Start Date field.
You cannot edit shift patterns for dates that overlap published schedules. You can click the Calculate Start Date button to select the earliest schedule start date for the location that does not have a schedule generated.Note: The SHIFT_PATTERN_SAVE_ALLOWED_FOR_SCHEDULED_WEEKS registry parameter controls if shift patterns can be edited for dates with unpublished schedules. Unpublished schedules must be regenerated to apply changes to fixed shifts.

Click Load.

-
Select one of these options in the Fixed Shift
Type drop-down to determine how schedule optimization interacts
with the fixed shift pattern for the currently selected employee:

- The fixed shift pattern is not used. Schedule optimization is used to assign all shifts for the employee.
- Only
- The employee is only assigned to shifts from the fixed shift pattern. Schedule optimization does not assign shifts to the employee.

- Select one of these options to link the times of the fixed shift to the
location's hours of operation. The start and end time of the fixed
shift are adjusted based on these options when the hours of
operation changes for the location.
- OPEN: The start time of the fixed shift is compared to the Start Time of the hours of operation of the location to determine the offset.
- CLOSE: The end time of the fixed shift is compared to the End Time of the hours of operation of the location to determine the offset.
- REGULAR: The shift is not linked to the hours of operation. This option is selected if the drop-down is left blank.
