What is labor forecasting?

Labor forecasting is the process of using a mathematical forecasting algorithm to predict future business volumes (drivers) for the purposes of scheduling. The drivers may include sales, traffic, units, transactions, and other volumes that can be used along with productivity standards to determine required staffing levels.

Labor forecasts are specific to an individual location. Forecasts are typically created automatically within the system based on historical information.
