EMP_FULLNAME field configuration overview
The EMP_FULLNAME field is used throughout the application, wherever the employee’s full name is displayed. In previous implementations of WFM, the format of this field in the application was controlled by the FULLNAME_FORMAT registry parameter. You can now choose to override this global parameter and make it mandatory to enter a specific value for the employee’s full name when creating or updating employees in WFM or through the employee import process. This gives you the ability to specify values for the employee’s full name rather than a single global value.
Note: If you do not want to use this feature, no action is required on your part and your
implementation of WFM will not be affected.
Once this feature is fully implemented, WFM behavior will change as follows:
- The system will no longer automatically generate the employee full name in the application as defined by the FULLNAME_FORMAT registry parameter.
- If a new employee is added in WFM, EMP_FULLNAME is a required field. You must provide the full name in the application or through an import.
- If an employee is updated in WFM, you have the option of updating EMP_FULLNAME and you cannot blank out the field and save the record.
- For employee imports, you must manually add this field to the Employee Import interface. For employee updates, you have the option of updating this field and cannot blank out the field through the import.
