Setting Up Schedule Imports

To set up schedule imports:

  1. Create the CSV text file.

You must create the schedule import CSV file according to the field specifications listed in the Schedule Import Interface Field Specification section.

    See Schedule Import Interface logic.

  2. Specify this information to create a scheduled task in the Job Scheduler:
    Task Type
    Import Task

    Import Task Parameters:

    Interface Type
    SCHEDULE IMPORT
    Transformer Class Name
Check Use Default Transformer unless using a custom created transformer or a transformer script.
  3. Specify this information to create a scheduled task in the Job Scheduler:
    Task Type
    Interface Task

    Interface Task Parameters:

    Interface Type
    SCHEDULE IMPORT

    Schedule Import Parameters:

    Creates Employee Override
Select to assign the shift to the specified employee as a shift override in addition to creating the shift. Clear this check box to create only the shift.
    Creates Shifts When Not Found
Defines the action when the specified imported shift is not in the application. Select:

TRUE - Creates the shift if the shift is not found in the system.

FALSE - (Default) Returns an error for the record if the shift is not found in the system.

SCHEDULED_TIME - Creates a schedule time override for the employee in the application instead of a shift override. The break string specified in the import is ignored.

As of Workbrain 4.1, the Schedule Import Interface creates a schedule time override for the employee in the application, and not a shift override. The break string specified in the import is ignored. If a break string exists for R, a scheduled time with breaks override is created (ovrtypId = 461).
