Override parameter

The OVERRIDE parameter allows you to specify if an existing role assignment(s) is overridden by an imported employee role if the employees (imported and existing) have the same role and the dates of the role are overlapping.

• OVERRIDE=TRUE (non-virtual role)

  If the OVERRIDE parameter is set to TRUE and the employee role is non-virtual, then an imported employee takes over the role of an existing employee(s) if their roles are the same. In this situation, the existing employee's OVR_END_DATE data element for the employee role changes to the day before the Employee Import process was run, while the imported employee's OVR_START_DATE data element for the employee role is the day the Employee Import process was run.

• OVERRIDE=TRUE (virtual role)

  If the OVERRIDE parameter is set to TRUE and the employee role is virtual, the employee record fails to be imported.

• OVERRIDE=False (virtual role)

  If the OVERRIDE parameter is set to FALSE and the employee role is virtual, the employee record is imported, allowing multiple employees to have the same role.

• OVERRIDE=FALSE (non-virtual role)

  If the OVERRIDE parameter is set to FALSE and the employee role is non-virtual, the employee record fails to be imported.

The CHECK_FOR_EXISTING_USER_TEAM registry parameter allows you to verify whether the employee already has the specified role for the same team or an ancestor team during the same period. If this parameter is set to TRUE and the employee has an overlapping assignment in the same team or an ancestor team, the system rejects the new assignment and displays a warning message: "User is already granted ancestor team(s) for input team and role within the given period". The system will continue to process all assignments in the record and log a warning message for any assignments that fail because of the validation.
