Configuring the WFM application for the 8000 or 9000 series clock
In this step, you configure components of the WFM application to work with the clock so that appropriate data is transferred between the clock and the application. The components form this hierarchy:
- One clock reader server type and clock reader server for one or more 8000 or 9000 series clocks.
- At least one reader group for a group of clocks. Reader groups link the clocks in a similar physical location to all of the employees who use the clocks. A typical installation has several reader groups for security and performance considerations.
- One clock reader for every installed clock.
Configuring the WFM application for clocks involves these tasks, which should be completed in the order they are listed:
- Adding a clock reader server.
- Adding reader groups.
- Adding clock readers.
- Setting up employees to use the 8000 or 9000.
- Assigning time codes.
- Assigning labor metrics.
