Cleaning procedures
Clean each clock in your deployment once a month.
- Wipe the plastic surface of the clocks using a damp cotton cloth and neutral detergent. Make sure to wipe the clock dry. Do not spray any cleaning agent directly on the clock, as this could damage the clock components.
- To disinfect the biometric sensor and screen (touch and non-touch), the clock vendor recommends using a soft, micro-fiber cloth dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol or similar non-abrasive, non-toxic, non-bleach disinfectant safe for LCD screens. Do not over-saturate the touchscreen or biometric sensor. Do not directly spray any cleaning agent directly on the screen or biometric sensor.
- Use a clear plastic cleaner/polish to remove fine scratches from the surface of the fingerprint sensor every three months.
- Do not subject the fingerprint sensor to heavy shock or vibrations, do not allow the sensor to come in contact with sharp or metallic objects, and do not place it near a heat source.
A special cleaning badge is typically used to swipe through the slot to clean magnetic or barcode heads. If a cleaning badge is not available use a soft cloth dampened by rubbing alcohol and wipe the slot and reader’s head every six months.
