Starting and ending breaks
The process for starting or ending a break is very similar to the process for clocking in or out.
-
Enter your badge number, or press Swipe Emp ID and enter your employee ID.
Note: If identification mode for biometric validation is enabled, then only a fingerprint or facial recognition is required for authentication.
- Provide PIN or biometric authentication, if prompted.
-
Press the F2 (Time
Code) function key.
Select the start break or end break time code by using the up and down arrow keys on the clock or the F1 (Prev) and F2 (Next) function keys. You can also select a time code by choosing the corresponding number on the clock keypad.
- Press ENT on the clock keypad to select the time code.
-
If your start break or end break punch is successful, a
confirmation message is displayed. If it is unsuccessful, an error message is
displayed.
Error messages vary depending on the type of error and the configuration of the clock. Some examples:
- Invalid ID
The clock reader does not recognize your ID or badge. Ensure that you are specifying your ID correctly, or that you are scanning your badge properly.
Try the punch again. If you receive the same error message, contact your supervisor.
- It is too early to return from break
You are not scheduled to return from your break yet. Contact your supervisor.
- Invalid ID
