Additional information for 4G support and configuration
This information should be noted when working with 4G connectivity for the 8000 Series clock:
- The Local Area Network (LAN) connection always take precedence over a Wi-Fi and 4G connection if all three are configured and connected. LAN or Wi-Fi connections take precedence over a 4G connection.
- A reboot of the 8000 Series clock is required to enable the 4G connection
in these scenarios:
- If LAN or Wi-Fi is already configured and, at a later point, the 4G adapter is plugged into the clock.
- If LAN or Wi-Fi is already configured and, at a later point, the 4G adapter is removed from the clock.
- If the 4G connection is enabled on the clock and the Wi-Fi adapter is plugged in without a valid configuration, a restart is required after the Wi-Fi connection is configured.
- Clocks that are equipped with a 4G board and a SIM card attempt to connect to the network using any configured method. If the network connection cannot be established within 15 minutes, then the clock reboots and restarts the 15 minute cycle.
- Under typical usage conditions, a single clock uses 200 to 500MB of mobile data per month.
