Applying clock configuration updates

  1. Determine the system download directory by checking this registry parameter:
    /system/clocks/DOWNLOAD_DIR
  2. Create an update directory such as update.1. The numeric
  3. Create a conf and optionally a resources directory in the update directory.
  4. If adding or modifying settings in settings.conf, create a new settings.conf file that only contains the custom settings. Place this settings.conf file in the update/conf directory.
  5. For any other files in the conf or resources directory copy the new custom files to the corresponding directory.
The file names must match the original file being replaced. For example, logo.png to replace the Infor provided logo.png.
  6. Copy the update directory named update.1 to the current fix pack directory update.a-b-c-d.dir for the clocks to be updated.
The numeric value of the update.1 directory must be higher than the last update folder in the fix pack directory. If it is not, then you must rename it appropriately.
  7. Place an empty text file named update.ready in the system download directory or in every directory that contains files that must be downloaded by your clocks.
If there is no update.ready file, then your clocks do not see the directory and do not start processing the update. You must place an update.ready file in each update.# directory that you create which contains files to be updated.
Note: Repeat this step for each application server node in a clustered environment.
  8. Based on where the update folders are placed, your clocks can automatically download and apply the configuration update on the next scheduled update as configured in each clock's settings.conf file.
