Adding a support employee to an assignment

A support employee can be assigned to assist with patient care. A support employee is typically not licensed and can be assigned to multiple patients in multiple assignments.

A support employee can be assigned directly to a patient or to an assignment in general to assist with all patients.

  1. Select Clinical Science > Assignments > Patient Assignments.
  2. Verify that the correct Assignment Parameters have been selected. If they have not, select the data from the appropriate search boxes above the header. You can scroll, filter or perform a search to locate the data.
  3. On the Employee list, click Support Employees or All Employees and select the employee from the list.
  4. On the Assignment panel, expand the primary care RN to whom the support Employee should be assigned, locate the patient on the assignment and click the + symbol for Add Support Employee beside the patient's name.
