Linking time codes to balances

You must link the time codes that affect employee balances with the appropriate balances. For example, the SICK time code that is used to represent time off sick is linked to the sick balance. You also define how an occurrence of the time code changes the balance, either increases or decreases, and by how many units, such as one day, hour, or minute. Time codes can affect more than one balance.

  1. Select Maintenance > Payroll Settings > Time Codes.
  2. Click Edit next to the time code you want to link to a balance.
  3. Select the Affects Balances check box.
  4. Click Save.
  5. In the Time Code Balance section, click the new row icon, and specify this information:
    Balance Name
    Select the balance you want to link to the time code.
    Balance Type
    Select how the balance is affected by the occurrence of the time code.
  6. Click Save.
