Configure the balance type to convert from decimal to minutes

As an administrator, you can configure a balance type to convert from decimal to minutes, so that the system knows how to convert the balance value to hours and minutes format.

  1. Select Maintenance > Payroll Settings > Advanced Payroll Settings > Balance Types.
  2. Click the Turn ON config mode icon.
  3. Click the localization (orange diamond) icon next to the Unit conversion to minutes field. By default, this field is hidden.
    The Field Localization window is displayed for the BALTYP_CNV_MIN field.
  4. In the Field UI drop-down list, change the value from HiddenUI to NumberUI.
  5. Click Save and close the window.
  6. Click the Turn OFF config mode icon.
  7. Click Edit next to your balance type.
  8. In the Unit conversion to minutes field, specify the number of minutes needed to convert 1 unit of the balance type to minutes.
    For example, for a balance type of days, you would specify 1440 as there are 1440 minutes in a day.
  9. Click Save.
