Approving Requests
Supervisors can change an employee’s availability patterns at any time. The pattern changes become effective immediately. Employees can submit their own availability pattern change requests by entering changes on the Employee Availability Pattern page. Supervisors can view the employee’s previous availability and request comments to determine whether or not to approve the request. Employee availability change requests do not take effect until a supervisor has approved them.
These methods can be used to approve employees’ availability change requests and vacation requests:
- Using WorkMail to approve or reject individual requests. See Authorizing employees’ availability change requests using WorkMail.
- Using WorkMail’s Batch Approvals tab to approve or reject multiple requests.
- Using the Batch Approvals
section on the Approve Availability Requests page. See
Authorizing employees’ availability change requests using the Availability module.
For information about batch approvals and how to set up forms to be approved in this way, see the Time and Attendance Implementation and Administration Guide.
Once a request is approved or rejected, the request is removed from Workmail and the Approve Availability Requests page. The employee’s availability calendar is updated accordingly. The employee receives notification that the request was processed.
